Fabmatics integrates SCI business activities
The integration of the complementary expertise of the two sister companies within the SCIO Automation Group brings their semiconductor fab automation solutions together under the Fabmatics brand, making collaboration easier for customers and business partners.
Dresden, November 2, 2026.
Effective November 1, 2026, SCI GmbH’s employees, expertise and business activities in Osterhofen were integrated into Fabmatics GmbH, headquartered in Dresden. Operations will gradually be consolidated under the Fabmatics organization and brand.
Until now, SCI and Fabmatics operated as independent sister companies within the Cleanroom Technologies segment of the SCIO Automation Group. Their capabilities were already complementary, with both companies working together on customer projects and during sales discussions. The integration now provides this collaboration with a unified organizational structure and market presence.
„SCI and Fabmatics have successfully combined their expertise under the umbrella of the SCIO Automation Group over the past few years. For us, the integration is therefore the logical next step.“,
sagt Dr. Roland Giesen, Geschäftsführer der Fabmatics GmbH.
„We are now looking ahead: Together with our colleagues in Osterhofen, we want to further advance automation in semiconductor fabs and create new momentum for the factory of the future. Our goal is to develop solutions that grow with our customers’ requirements and provide them with greater flexibility and new opportunities over the long term.“
The Osterhofen site will remain in operation and will continue as an operating site of Fabmatics GmbH. The existing local teams and infrastructure will therefore remain part of the combined organization.
Combined portfolio for semiconductor fab automation
With the integration, Fabmatics becomes the central point of contact within the SCIO Automation Group for customers in the semiconductor industry. Customers will benefit from an integrated solution portfolio, combined engineering expertise and additional development, manufacturing and service capacities.
Fabmatics specializes in automating material flows and handling processes in semiconductor fabs and other highly automated manufacturing environments. The company provides customized end-to-end solutions for cleanroom applications, encompassing both hardware and software, from consulting, planning and development through manufacturing, installation and integration to after-sales service. Its portfolio includes solutions for handling, transport, storage, and product identification and localization. These include autonomous mobile robots, robotic cells, handling systems, storage systems, RFID components and purge systems.
SCI’s stocker and conveyor solutions complement this portfolio. By combining their expertise, customers will have access to a broader range of automation solutions for material flows in semiconductor fabs, with Fabmatics serving as their central business partner.
