Dresden, 19 December 2017. Challenging automation solutions make value-creating processes within German industries even more flexible. At the 15th international expert forum “Innovation Forum for Automation”, from 18 to 19 January 2018 in Dresden, automation specialists (supplier) and international technology companies (customers) will be displaying successful application examples for Industry 4.0.

The expert panel targets business decision-makers and specialists, who are in search for new technologies and methods to optimize their manufacturing processes step by step and thereby being able to react as quickly and flexibly as possible to changes in customer requirements in the industrial production.

Through the application examples visitors will gain insight into the future of factory automation and see what implications the collection and analysis of vast data amounts (Big and Smart Data Analytics) have on the further development of predictive maintenance strategies. Other key topics will be new sensor technologies for line control, mobile robotic solutions as well as the application of virtual and augmented reality technologies in complex automation scenarios.

The international expert forum “Innovation Forum for Automation“ will be organized by the Automation Network Dresden (AND) – a cluster of the four German automation specialists Fabmatics, AIS Automation Dresden, SYSTEMA and XENON Automatisierungstechnik.

The “Innovation Forum for Automation“ will be focusing on case studies from the semiconductor, the electronic as well as the automotive industries. Program highlights include practice-oriented presentations by:

  • Dr. Christian Heedt (Siltronic AG) speaks about the flexible, automated transportation of material via mobile robots in a 300mm-wafer factory
  • Roland Schulz (OSRAM Opto Semiconductors GmbH & Co. OHG) presents a simulation solution for the development and improvement of LED-products
  • Dr. Germar Schneider (Infineon Technologies Dresden GmbH) outlines the way from a highly automated factory to a „Smart Fab“ using Industrial Internet of Things (IIOT) methods
